Community
ON-SITE RETAIL
Liz retail is specially curated to add to the fabric of 14th Street, Liz residents, and the community at large. With the new Whitman-Walker Cultural Center acting as cornerstone of our dynamic retail streetscape, expect to see an array of cafes, specialty shops, and soft goods, including Sephora and Bluestone Lane Café.
GOETHE-INSTITUT
Located at Liz, The Goethe-Institut’s new Washington headquarters will provide a rich array of arts and cultural installations, film programs, language classes, reading rooms, lectures, discussions and more.
EXPLORECULTURAL CENTER
The Whitman-Walker Cultural Center is dedicated to honoring and exploring the human experience through the lens of art and activism. Aspiring to create a diverse, open space for thought, dialogue and connection, we are creating an accessible, cultural venue for emerging voices – notable LGBTQIA+ persons – to explore how intersectionality impacts health and well-being.
PUBLIC SPACES
In collaboration with Selldorf Architects, Future Green’s design integrates two historic D.C. buildings and creates a dynamic streetscape attraction. Intended to promote inclusivity and dialogue between the community and the larger public, the design includes a wood-deck plaza that functions as an outdoor room and can accommodate public art, commemorative signage, and a vast array of community programs.
